Best wishes for Prince William and Kate

By | April 23, 2011

Many Royal marriages are not happy, no matter, we have to give our best wishes to them, hope they have a long and happy life together. Let us look at the wishes of the royal families.

Most of us feel a little protective of Britain’s Prince William. After all, he is Princess Diana’s first born, and now that she’s not here to watch over him, it’s fallen to us. And now that Wills is getting ready to tie the royal knot April 29, we’ve asked you for some advice that will ensure his marriage to Catherine Middleton is a long and happy one. Here’s what you had to say.

— Joan Morris

This advice is quite simple and I have given it to both my children on their wedding days: “She’s always right.”

It is hard-won knowledge from 46 years of marriage and has helped both my son and son-in-law through many a difficult time. We often laugh about it, but it is a truism that comes in handy.

I wish William and Kate the very best. And know if he will just take this advice to heart they will have many happy years together.

— Richard Dart, Livermore

The best advice is short advice, or no advice at all. It’s best to wish you love.

Handsome William, beautiful Kate, enjoy the privileges handed down, endure publicity unwanted. Ponderous responsibilities are yet to come as future king and queen, a chance to lead; to make a difference in a chaotic world.

We will watch and pray for you to have a happy marriage. Your happiness will light the sky and brighten all the rest of us. In an old and famous ballad, sung often in your country, it was said of Darby and of Joan, “they’re never happy asunder.” May this be said of Will and Kate.

— Marilyn Slade, Pleasanton

I was married 48 years and nine months when my husband passed away. The thing I miss most is the physical contact. He’d always touch me when near — either a pat on the shoulder or a kiss on the cheek. Even when he got so sick, he would always blow me a kiss or reach over and touch me.

Remember, always tell them you love them with a hug or a kiss, and never go to bed angry.

— Jean Endres, Oakley
