The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment carries out final preparations
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment has completed a string of major rehearsals in Hyde Park, including Commander Household Cavalry’s Inspection and the Major General’s Review. The rehearsals enabled the Regiment to continue training for the Royal Wedding.
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment are now commencing rehearsals specific to the Royal Wedding escorts. Working in conjunction with colleagues in The Royal Mews, practices have now taken place employing several carriages replicating the ones that will be used on the big day.
Royal Mail launches commemorative wedding stamps
Royal Mail has launched a special sheet of stamps to commemorate the forthcoming Royal Wedding of Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton.
From today, the stamps are available from all Post Office branches.
The stamps feature the official engagement portraits taken by photographer Mario Testino on 25th November.

Her Majesty The Queen gave formal consent to Prince William and Catherine Middleton’s marriage today.
Under the Great Seal of the Realm, The Queen signed a notice of approval which proclaimed, in transcribed calligraphy, consent to the union of “Our Most Dearly Beloved Grandson Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales, K.G. and Our Trusty and Well-beloved Catherine Elizabeth Middleton”.
Tied to the bottom of the approval by gold braiding is a large red wax Great Seal of the Realm.
The Band of the Coldstream Guards set to entertain crowds along the procession route
Entertainment in the form of show tunes, pop songs and sing-along ditties will be provided to crowds lined along the wedding procession route on the day of the Royal Wedding.
The Band of the Coldstream Guards are aiming to create a lively atmosphere on the day.
On the wedding day more than five military bands from across the three services will be stationed at various points along the route from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey.
